If you have been keeping up with the blog, you will know that I have been donating my time to the Montgomery County Hospital District (MCHD) and have been riding along with the Paramedics. Holly sent one of my images to Texas EMS Magazine and they bought it for their cover. I have always wanted to be published, a cover for my first is extra special!
Back home from the motorcycle weekend in the Hill Country. Had a great trip and just finished downloading the pics. Crazy thing happened last night though. At the banquet we always have door prizes, raffles and such, all based on your registration wrist-band number. Well boy did I get the lucky wrist-band. First my number was drawn for the "Motorcycling Tours of the Alps" book, then a short time later I won a $150 gift certificate to lone Star Track Days, good for any track-day session. Just when I thought I was done, we had the grand prize drawing, 2 free nights at the hotel, paid for by MSTA. Yeah, I won that too. Crazy huh? It was a little embarrassing, but I credit my good luck to clean living! Go here for the rest of the pics: MSTA 2009 All images taken with my Canon G10
We are riding in the Hill Country this weekend and what a perfect weekend it has turned out to be. We rode out here on Friday and took the twisty roads to Coopers BBQ in Llano, TX. From there we arrived at our weekend home base, The YO Ranch Hotel in Kerrville. Saturday we hit all the twisties and enjoyed great weather. Funny thing is that I must have entered a worm-hole or something because I ended up on Easter Island...... Must have been my speed or something. I will post all the goodness after I get home.
So I am running some errands this morning in The Woodlands and I stumble onto this impromptu gathering of fast street cars, must have been a club or something. Well there was about 10 GT-R's on hand, I've never seen so many in one place. Heck I've seen only 3 on the road. Larry was nice enough to let me sit in his car and play with the paddle shifters and push all the buttons. If you don't know what a GT-R is, again I can't help you. You'll just have to get to Google for some help.
Sorry for the poor picture quality, I was without a camera except for the BlackBerry.
I went to the Air Show today and bumped into Ken and his wife. They were doing that same as I was, making pictures!
I got a hot lead for shooting for the HPD - Stay tuned for the hotness.

Our Woodlands Photography Club recently held is Fall 2009 Photo Contest. Members could enter up to 2 entries per the 6 categories. These categories were B&W abstract, Nature, People, Red, Shadows, and Open. I did better than I did in the last Spring contest. I missed the judging and the awards ceremonies as I was sitting on a plane traveling back from Tucson. I got the play-by-play from Vu who was my eyes and ears.
I won 1st in B&W, 2nd in B&W, 2nd in Nature and 3rd in Open. My cash winnings totaled $130 and my images are below.
B&W Category - Supper - 1st Place
Nature Category - Road Crossing - 2nd Place
Open Category - Balance Rock Trail - 3rd Place
Vu won a total of 5 entries and you can see his winning images by visiting his blog at http://vbanh.vox.com/
The Re/Max Balloon lift-off is this weekend and is held at the NASA Space Center in Houston. Vu, Dave and I went to make some images.
Wow, fast day. Actually the day was normal in length, shorter than normal if you consider that we are losing daylight more and more each day. I am referring to the speed in which we reached Eureka Springs, AR. I think the Black Pearl set new land speed records. Here are some fun pics from the day. All the pics will be posted after I return.
We are in Arkansas at the moment. We left TX, hit Oklahoma, and now in AR. We are up here for some road blasting and R&R. Below are some pics from the parking lot once we got in. Note the hot new Pazzo levers I installed on my bike before we left. So Hot. I will post more later and all the pics once I get home.
Dude, that is so hot! read more
